Brighton Pier 2013

In addition to the Parade we spent time looking and taking photos around the busy pier at Brighton

My idea was action photos especially those hanging upside down (plus someone you may recognise as looking very suspicious )

The six who met Saturday morning and ventured into the unknown (crowds) did not have too many problems persuading models and the like to pose and strut their stuff.

I’am sure the photos will be duplicated several times but all from different angles.

My theme was originally to find ‘Hair’ for the forthcoming project but many had wigs and other adornments, i had to gave up on this and just focus on colour which was in abundance.

Great day out and looking forward to the next venue

Six of us met at the pier at 10:00 on Saturday morning and spent the next two hours being entertained by participants in Pride Parade.
My personal project was “Faces”. Others had different projects which, no doubt, will appear in “In Camera”.

SLF Mono Semi Finals by Barrie Duffield

Last Tuesday evening the 5th of February, both Paul and myself visited Old Coulsdon Camera Club to attend the semi finals of the SLF Mono competition against Selsdon Camera Club.

This is the first for sometime Orpington has qualified for the Mono Semis and therefore we were more than satisfied in being selected against Selsdon with fingers crossed to go further.

The judge for the evening was Paul Adams DPAGB who also judged the Colour Prints of Cheam & Old Coulsdon plus PDI’s from Aperture Woolwich & Carshalton

Unfortunately we came 2nd in the Mono event with 60.5 compared to Selsdon with 66.5 points, Peter Humphrey received a certificate for his print below with 9.5 points

Finals Day at Bromley CC will be on the 21st February 2013 between

Monochrome Prints: Aperture Woolwich PS v West Wickham PS
Colour prints: Croydon v West Wickham PS
PDIs: Croydon CC v South London PS
